Normally I look a painting and think about it. What is so amazing about this work is that I get the opposite sense – that it instead is looking at and thinking about me. What a magnificent effect! I congratulate the artist for achieving this unusual phenomenon. I selected this work as the best in show not only for its technical merits (it is extremely well painted) but because it creates such an impression. This is an image I am not likely to forget because viewing it encourages a dialogue that I find very satisfying. -- Linda Weal, Curator of the View Gallery, Adirondack, New York |
